Order of St John of Jerusalem of
Rhodes and of Malta
From 24th to 30th of July the Embassy of the Order of Malta in Bulgaria organized - the so called ‘Creative Holidays’ for orphans from state institutions on the Black Sea as in many years before.
On June 22, H. E. Ms. Ursula Hoefter Zuccoli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Bulgaria, gave a reception on the occasion of the birth of St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of the Order of Malta.
Metropolitan Nicholay of Plovdiv visited the headquarters of the Order of Malta in Rome and met with the government of the Order. He was received at the Master's Palace by the Grand Commander - Fra Emmanuel Rousseau.
The Embassy has been active since the beginning of the Russian aggression. The first action was to help the Franciscan Fathers who brought a group of Ukrainian refugees from Odessa, we financed their travel and first needs in Bulgaria.
At the beginning of 2023, the Embassy of the Order of Malta received a large donation from Senator Merloni in Italy. It consisted of brand new lightweight duvets, blankets, winter boots, warm slippers, jackets, underwear, clothes and sweets.
As the cold weather approaches, the Order of Malta is once again helping the disadvantaged groups by providing basic foodstuffs and hot meals.
The Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta Ursula Hofter Dzuccoli inaugurated the stop with the image of Villa Magistrale from the Aventine Hill in Rome, part of the small territory of the Order of Malta in the Eternal City. The image and the stop are located in front of the National Library of St. Cyril and Methodius" in Sofia.
On October 11, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta held a reception at Sofia Hotel Balkan on the occasion of the feast of Blessed Gerard. The event was attended by many ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the Presidency, the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the academic and cultural elite of Sofia.
From July 30th to August 6th, Maltacamp was held near the city of Rome - a summer camp of the Order of Malta for youth with disabilities, which takes place every year in a different country.
