Order of St John of Jerusalem of
Rhodes and of Malta
In March, the Embassy supported Gabriela Mladenova from Pernik, who recently lived in a family-type accommodation centre in the city. She has completed her schooling, secured employment, and has moved into a new home provided by the municipality, renovated with support from sponsors.
Since 2023, the Embassy has been cooperating with the organization Tangra and football manager Viktor Kirkov to organize free football training sessions for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Fakulteta neighborhood.
This winter as well, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta has continued the Basic Goods Project - an initiative through which food packages are distributed to socially disadvantaged families, people with disabilities, elderly individuals, and single persons with very low incomes.
From July 14 to 20 in Obzor, at the coast of Black sea, was held the traditional summer camp was held, organized by the Embassy for children and youth, some of whom are disabled, living in resident-type Accommodation Centers. Together with a hundred participants, we spent an unforgettable week, full of adventures, new friends, and games.
On the occasion of the feast of St. John the Baptist, patron of the Order of Malta, the Embassy participated in a special mass of gratitude for the work of the Order in Bulgaria.
On one of the coldest winter days of February, volunteers from the Order of Malta, together with operators from Caritas-Sofia, are handing out portions of warm pasta to the homeless in front of the Rila Hotel in the capital.
On June 27, the international scientific conference "Diplomacy and Hospitaller Mission", organized by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Faculty of History of Sofia University, took place in the Aula of the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
On June 26, a reception of the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta took place in the Royal Palace "Vrana" on the occasion of the Order's national day - June 24 - Patron Saint's Day - Saint John the Baptist.
On May 29, the concert "Splendour Musicus" was held in the "Bulgaria" Hall, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the Order of Malta.
