From July 14 to 20 in Obzor, at the coast of Black sea, was held the traditional summer camp was held, organized by the Embassy for children and youth, some of whom are disabled, living in resident-type Accommodation Centers. Together with a hundred participants, we spent an unforgettable week, full of adventures, new friends, and games. We are grateful to our volunteers for their tireless efforts to make the camp a fun vacation for everyone. The first football tournament with real medals, dedicated to the late Ambassador Camillo Zuccoli, was also held. “Some of these children and youth saw the sea for the first time, while for others it was the only opportunity for a vacation, as the homes do not have a budget for a summer vacation,” says the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta H.E. Ursula Zuccoli. The proximity of the sea, the animators, and the atmosphere made everyone wish this camp would continue. Another summer initiative of the Order of Malta was the participation in the international camp for young people with disabilities – Maltacamp, which took place from 11 to 17 August in Baarlo, the Netherlands. The Bulgarian team was represented by Reni Sinanova and Stoyan Borisov from the “Nadezhda” Dupnitsa Center and Alex Gersov from Rakovski. The young people immersed themselves in the great atmosphere, made new friends, participated in the liturgies, and had fun. They visited Amsterdam and saw how cheese is made.
