In March, the Embassy supported Gabriela Mladenova from Pernik, who recently lived in a family-type accommodation centre in the city. She has completed her schooling, secured employment, and has moved into a new home provided by the municipality, renovated with support from sponsors. The young woman needed a stove, a refrigerator, and a washing machine, which the mission provided by ordering brand-new appliances.
“Offering a helping hand to these young people during the difficult first months as they adapt to independent living is our priority,” said Ambassador Ursula Hoefter Zuccoli. She added, “Starting this academic year, we have been providing a monthly scholarship to a girl from a low-income family in Montana, who is a first-year university student in Sofia”. “She completed her first exam session with very good results. We are proud of her and wish her many more successes,” the Ambassador affirmed.
